Colds, What does this spell?, and Foot chewing.....

Is there anything cuter than when a baby finds their toes? I love how Colton's little hands grab those sweet little feet and bring them to his mouth and all the time his little leg and foot are fighting against going into his mouth! It looks funny to see him pulling his foot up and wondering why it keeps pulling back!Look at those chubby legs!

The colds have hit the house. Thank God it isn't the flu. I was debating on getting the flu shot then the media hype with all the kids dying from the flu kicked in and I thought for sure we were going to get them(the mercury free ones) and then Caden comes down with a cough, runny nose, and sneezing 2 days before the scheduled shots-so that went out the window since you can't get the shot being sick. Colton didn't want to be left out so he too has decided to get the cough and runny nose. Poor baby doesn't know how to cough so it comes out this long edgy cough and when you look at him he does it again! Attention getter! Caden didn't have his first cold until almost a year and here the little baby is on #2 at 6months. Wait until Caden starts pre-school this Fall!



"Mommy, what does this spell?" asks Caden. "Ummm good question" answers mommy. Caden loves to write, the only problem is he likes letters and any letters will do-no particular order. So this morning I gave him paper and told him to find one of his book and start copying (kind of sounds like a school punishment doesn't it?) He LOVED the idea. One little problem......there are times when he likes to take a few letters from words so once again it spells nothing!

New President of the United States....

according to Caden. One night I asked Caden who the President of the United States was. He thought a little bit and shouted "God!"

Valentines and Birthdays....

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone out there! Also happy birthday to Doug!!! Caden is so excited to make a cake ( pirates of the care-a-bina) with sprinkles. He really wanted to get daddy a barbie doll- but we didn't go that route!

Following in his brother's footsteps.....

Well Colton is following in Caden's footsteps with the tongue thing. If you remember when Caden was younger he had this thing where he would always have his tongue hanging out (and his lip sticking out-still does!). Colton has started to do this also, note the pic above:)

We did Colton's 6 month pics today so hopefully tomorrow I will be able to post some of those:)

More from the Artist....

Here are just a few more drawings from Caden. Each of these has a story behind them. A few of you have heard these already. With the first one Caden came up to me and asked me that question. The question that if you are a parent you hope you can get right and if you don't you may have a sad little child wondering how in the world you could not figure it out! Caden came up and asked: Guess what this is? Oh boy, lets see....he's into dinosaurs so that is always a good guess. Okay is it a pterodactyl? Caden: Yes, but if you turn it this way it's Texas! LOL! He also has a fascination with Texas. He wants to go there really bad (that and New York City). I'm sure Dayna would be happy to put him up for the stay-right Dayna?!?!

Now onto the second picture........He got Doug on this one. What does it look like to you? Come on, it's a "nose pecker" What? Yes responds Caden as he demonstrates the bobbing of the head. Oh I see.....it's a woodpecker! Now I though it kind of looked like a pregnant woman rubbing her belly but I guess I was looking at it the wrong way. Sometimes he gets a little impatient when you cannot figure it out and that leads to the general answer of "oh yes, that is a great picture." Only he is not falling for that anymore. You need to repeat what it is. Oh well....patience all around.

Need an interior decorator? maps, moving and carrots

Well if anyone is in need we have one at our place. Caden has taken to drawing up a storm. He loves paper, markers, crayons, and scissors. And when the drawing is done he love tape and lots of it. In his room he hung up 43 pictures. This is not only limited to his room though....we have them in the kitchen/dining area and the front room also.

Terri gave Caden a globe the other day. He loves to play " we will live here". For those of you who don't know that game it goes something like this.....one person spins the globe and the other gently lays his finger on the globe and says we will live here! Simple right? We have to play it before bed and he for some reason keeps getting Pakistan...don't think we will be moving there anytime soon. Caden also learned a new state: Exersaw which is another name for Arkansas.

Colton is on the move: rolling over and turning himself around. He gets mad when he turns over and then cannot figure out how to get back on his back. He's sitting up and has tried his first veggie: carrots. He likes them, he really really likes them:)

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.
