Days 26, 27, 28 and 29

Wow, I have some catching up to do!

Day 24 and 25

Nothing new is happening here. Yesterday was gymnastics. Caden has decided that he really doesn't want to go anymore-good thing he only has 2 more sessions left. We will probably not sign up for winter session because-get this-Caden is now signed up for wrestling. Yes, he is following in his father's footsteps-keeping the sport alive-poor child will have have his father and Uncle Randy "helping" him from now on...... I will get pictures once he starts. I asked him if he wanted to sign up and he asked "Wrestling's a sport?"

Today was school. According to Caden they has a super busy day. His teacher always emails after class and sends pictures of what they did. Here is one of Caden and his creation.


Colton and I had Right at Home (this link kind of explains it) at our church. I'm late joining this session but so glad I did. Colton is in the same room as on Sunday so he went in with no crying. He had a great time playing. We do jazzercise this session for exercise.OH MY GOODNESS! You dance, you move, you squat, you kick, you knee lift, you get down and do core ab moves, you use weights, you march, YOU NEVER STOP MOVING! It was definitely a workout. I'm still a little bit behind on the book but we are reading the book Boundaries with Kids by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend.
It looks like it will be a good book. Many of the woman are from our church so it's nice to meet them and put a name to a face. I have a Children's Ministry Team meeting tonight at church so back I go. This afternoon we are going to take it easy, do some laundry and wait for daddy to come home early-woohoo!

Day 23

Day 22 and a post for Dayna

This next photo is for my friend Dayna. Caden loves playing a computer game called Bugdom. Dayna and I both got our ibooks when we were in our masters program and the apple computers came with this game-very addicting and at the time very cool and animated. Colton thinks it's cool too, although I think he likes the computer keys much more than the game.

Day 21

We had our ECFE class today. Both the boys really like it. Colton loves playing with Amelia. You can even ask him and he nods his head yes. I'm not sure he knows what it means but he does it! I also think he said Gracie the other day. I had a picture of him, Caden, Gracie and Josiah up and he pointed and said "Gra" of course he won't say it anymore but I still think he did:) He also points when baby Josiah is up on the computer-it's funny how he reacts. I'll leave you with some baby toes of the newest family member-I'd show you more because he is sooooo adorable but I have to let Bonni see them all first:)

Day 19 and 20

Day 17 and 18

Blogger had a scheduled power outage and I'm not sure when exactly it took place but for the last couple of days I haven't been able to upload images so these days are coming together:)
It has been dreary and cloudy here all week. The rain just keeps coming-I want sunshine!! We are not doing much today. Caden found Doug's old matchbox cars in the basement when we were redoing/installing shelves in the storage room, so those have occupied the table for the last 2 days (got to keep little mister hands off of them). We went to visit the cutest little newborn on Wednesday. He also has the cutest big sister;) I took pictures so today I'll edit those. I'll email out a picture of the "second batch cousins" later. Well I hope you all have a great Friday-we will be trying to stay dry.

Day 16 and Colton's stunt

He usually just bends over and tosses things out of the drawer but apparently that was too slow so he decided to get in to make it faster. Caden had called me and said "mom, bring the camera!" My children know me so well.......

Day 15

A rainy day for us. Caden had school, which he has now claims he likes better than gymnastics. It was library day so that is always a favorite. Colton and I headed over to MOPS. We had a fun time making gifts in a jar for our bake sale that is coming up. We still have to bring some baked items but this is one of our crafts we do plus we get to keep one-Caden liked that. I brought home a friendship brownie one.
Caden has a new favorite song or should I say album. We just downloaded it and the songs are now running through my head. His favorites are American Kid, Superhero and Saved. My favorite would be the mom song and jammies-get your jammies on...........It is some fun funky upbeat music. I think Jackie could really get groovin' to it!
Hopefully I'll have time tomorrow to show you another Colton stunt.

Day 12,13 and 14 plus some orchard fun

Wow we have some catching up to do! Jackie had mentioned Praying the Scriptures for your Teenagers by Jodie Berndt as a good book. I have Jodie's book Praying the Scriptures for your Children and I really like that one. Sometime you just need a different way to pray and there are so many things we can be praying about for our children.

We had a full filled beautiful weekend. On Saturday we headed out to the apple orchard. The first one we went to had no apple to pick so they directed us to one that we went to a couple of years ago. It was so crowded but they did have apple left on the trees. Both boys had fun picking apples: Caden from the tress and Colton from the ground! He really didn't care if they were rotten or not, as long as he could place them into the bag. We did a lot of apple tossing when he wasn't looking. We then had a cow train ride and headed over to the other side to get something to eat. After a few hours there we headed home for some rest and then out to the park for some climbing fun. Colton now gets excited as soon as he sees a park.
On Sunday we went to church and then headed out to St. Cloud for a certain someone's 18th birthday-yes, Miss Amber is now an adult! We had a fun time seeing everyone. Caden asked if we could go to Uncle Randy's again. I think he enjoyed jumping on the trampoline and playing tag with Gracie.

Day 11 and a few from Caden

Today we were suppose to go and get the Flu Mist for Caden but he still has a cold. This cold has been off and on for 3 weeks. It has to be preschool. I had him checked out at Colton's appt. and the dr. said yep it's a cold-ugh. So we rescheduled for next week. We decided to go to Target for some milk and while we were there I found a pair of shoes for Colton that I could actually get onto his feet so I got those-we later took the other ones that lit up back. Oh and as we were driving back I realized I forgot the milk! Oh well I guess another trip to the store is in our future-very near future.
Now on to Caden-he has been saying some interesting stuff lately. Here are a few: a few weeks ago he told me: Mom, you rock!-yea I'm a rockin mom. Just today he said: You guys are getting old. I asked who and he said you and dad. Okay so I'm a rockin old mom! Last night Doug made some joke comment and Caden started laughing and said "that's a good one dad." It's amazing the things he comes up with.

Day 10 and field trip

Caden had his first field trip and bus ride today. He was so excited to get to school. This is part of our conversation after I picked him up at school.

Favorite part of preschool today: field trip to the orchard. Favorite part of field trip: picking things out of the field-see below Who did you sit with on the bus: well, on the way there 2 boys from my class. What are their names? I don't know We didn't talk. Why didn't you talk to them? I didn't ask them questions and they didn't ask me. We were all quiet. Who did you sit with on the way back? A girl from another class named Gracie. I rode on bus number 19 and my group didn't get to feed the goat. We ran out of time, but I got to pet the baby black goat.
Well I think it sounded like Caden had a great time on his first field trip and bus ride. Here are some pics of his loot.



Colton and I headed out to find him some shoes. Poor little dude keeps bringing me his shoes to put on but I think they are too small-I can never get his feet in them. So we headed to the outlet mall since that was the closest place and found a pair of tennis shoes that light up and have balls on them just like Cadens. I'll have to get a photo of those-so cute! Although these are the same size as the ones I think are too small but they look bigger. I'm hoping that the brands run different. It's so hard to tell when the little guy keeps curling up his toes when you try to put his foot in! Pic of those will be coming-little Mister is sleeping!

Day 9 and stuff

Caden had a great time at gymnastics today. They got to go up to the loft and jump into the giant foam pit. We then headed to grocery shop a bit-seems like we are always getting something. Colton has decided that walking backwards is his new thing. And before I forget he got a new tooth a few days ago- upper right next to the front tooth (not sure of the technical name:) He still doesn't talk a lot-who needs to when you have a older brother to say everything you want to say. His words are limited to ba:ball, mama:me:) dada: dada-he actually said this word first, and ni-ni: good night.He shakes his head yes and nods it no. And I think he says Caden but it comes out in a scream while he's looking at him:) Caden gets to go to the Apple Orchard tomorrow so we'll see what he has to day about that.

Day 8

Caden had a great day at school. The firefighters came to teach about safety. Caden came home with a firefighter hat and coloring book. He also got to go to the library today-which is a favorite and work at different stations they have in his classroom. He come home with so many "treasures" He also got to go down to the speech room for his first speech session. He said he got to play games and look at books. I, of course, have to fill out a 300 question questionnaire-how does that work?

Colton enjoyed MOPS today. We had a steering meeting so there weren't as many kids and all the kids were in one room. He cried at first but then settled down. We then picked up Caden and headed to Coborns. They love going there. I think it is the free cookie in the bakery-but hey whatever keeps them happy while I shop. This afternoon we are trying to stay warm-it is so windy out. I love jean and sweater weather not snowsuit weather-where ismy Fall? A couple of days ago it was 85 and now it's 64? Hmmmmm......

Day 7

Today we had our ECFE class. Both boys loved it, Colton found a little girl, Amelia, to play mother to him. I guess Amelia followed him around "helping him." Caden is getting excited for Thursday. His class is going on a field trip to a local apple orchard and he gets to ride the bus.

Day 5 and 6

Not a lot going on this weekend. Got some pictures of the kids in the leaves. Doug was raking/blowing the leaves into a pile so Caden decided to go take a leap. Colton thought it was fun too. Today I taught at church. I have the 2 and 3 year olds this year. I knew a lot of the kids from having their siblings in last years class. I think I'll like this age. They got to glue today-woohoo that is exciting for kids that age. Colton did okay in his classroom-I heard him crying from my room for a little bit but then he settled down. They still have him the infants b/c March was the cut off and he is one of the younger ones but we decided that maybe he can be moved into the 1's room-more to play with and climb on and he gets distracted easier in that room. Caden now likes his green room and goes without any problems. We have a busy week with ECFE classes, preschool and gymnastics!

Day 4

Not much to report on today. We had a MOMS Club open house. Caden had fun coloring and playing games. One mom that showed up has a daughter in Caden's preschool class, so that was fun for Caden to see her. Otherwise, Caden has been busy with the job of take all of our CDs out of the cases and putting them into a fabric holder. It is keeping him very busy. Colton is very crabby today-must be the after shock of the shots from yesterday.

Day 3 and dr. visit

Day 3

Colton had his 15 month check up today. He did really well...well that is until the nurse came in. He is a little dude weighing in at 20lb. 7oz. just enough to be facing forward in the car seat. He is 29.5 inches long. The dr. said that he is growing along just fine and since he eats a lot she's not worried at all. He had 4 shots-one included the flu shot. I ordered the flu mist for Caden and once he gets over this cold I'll schedule the appointment for that. Then in a month we get to go back for the other dose of flu shot and should be shot free until January. We also had the dr. check out Caden's lungs since he started up with a cold again-he just had one a few weeks ago. She gave him the all clear on lungs and ears and said it was probably a pre-school thing. We then had lunch with daddy and a target run to grab some ingredients for tomorrow's MOMS Club carnival/open house.
Oh and Colton has become a climbing machine. Anything a step up now has his attention.

Day 2

Today Caden had gymnastics , which he loves-must be all that running around and bouncing. Colton enjoys it also. He gets to dig through my purse, open and close all the lockers and then try and dig through other mom's purses. There is a playroom there but then Caden would be upset that I didn't get to see something exciting he did so we manage to stay in the viewing area. Two of my MOPS moms have boys in the class also so it's always fun to chat and catch up with them.

Almost a week ago my SIL Bonni gave birth to a very cute and tiny little guy named Josiah. We went to visit and drop off a few things. Caden and Colton had fun playing with Miss Gracie-well Gracie and Caden chased each other and Colton found other stuff to play with. Gracie thinks that Caden is pretty cool. She's not used to all that running around so I think she had fun also. Colton did not know what to think of Josiah. When I was holding him he wanted to either hold him also or didn't like the fact that I was holding him. He wanted to take his arm and when I said no Bonni and Matt got a look at a Colton tantrum. We cannot wait to see Gracie and Josiah again(and Bonni and Matt:).
