Caden for President
You all know that Caden is a president follower. He loves his presidents. The other day I thought I would stump Doug and Caden and asked who the 20th president was and Caden shouts out "Garfield!" How he knew that I don't know. A few weeks ago Caden made a little office with a box and Colton's rocking chair and asked me to take his picture.When I asked why he stated that this is how he would take a picture if we was president. So here is his presidential photo. Notice his drink of choice and his serious pose and facial expressions.

I thought I would give this a try and see if everyone is correct in saying that Caden looks like Doug and Colton like me. Yes people you are right! Well with these pictures anyway-I suppose if I chose a different picture the results could be different. It was fun to do. Also I did a celebrity look alike and got different people with different pictures. It came back with a percentage of 80 that I look like Charolette Church and a 75% that I resemble that senator is running for president-you know the one-blah! We will stick with Charolette Church.

You know the drill.....
Yes that would be the catch up exercise. Christmas and New Year's came and went. We are now into 2008-wow! Remember that whole 1999-2000 thing? Where has the time gone?
The 15th brought us Caden's first wrestling tournament. The first match he was excited for and after that there were tears-that is until the trophys came out. This was an all trophy tournament which at this age is a good thing because without that trophy I don't think many 4 year olds would get back out there.
The following week was Caden's last week of school before break.Caden was so excited to take gifts for his teachers.
We had a great Christmas! The boys got to have their Christmas here at our home the night of the 21st and the morning of the 22. They got a roller coaster that Colton can now ride all by himself. They also got a spiderman punching bag that we just found out doesn't last when used as a wrestling opponent for Caden-bye-bye Spiderman Punching Bag.
Later we headed to Doug's parents. The "boys" and yes I do mean Doug also-had fun with Uncle Randy's snowmo-vehicles (Caden's word). We also got in some sledding, lots of goodie eating and some cousin time.
John and Becky came over to give Caden a gift that he absolutely loved! A spiderman web blaster! After 20 minutes of 3 adults trying to get the toy out of the twist ties and then another 20 minutes of the men trying to figure out how it worked (yes, Becky was holding the instruction but who needs those?!?!?) we finally got the thing on Caden's hand and he blasted Doug-a big gob of silly string on his new sweater!! We sent him outside and he emptied his blaster in oh let's say......5 minutes-if that. Oh we cannot forget opening presents. Caden had a fun time helping with the $5 game. He made sure Uncle Randy didn't get a "girly" gift-we are going to take this up with the game management board and see if this a legal move. He stood there calling out the next number -sometimes before we were ready to move on but eventually he got the hang of the game. I was happy with my gift-a Bath and Body works hand soap and a cool little red purse. Doug got a water proof box that he will get to use on the boat. Then we moved onto the big stuff-Caden and Colton finally got to open some presents-woohoo! They both got long sleeve shirts, books and toys that they were very happy with.
On Christmas Day we woke up to stockings filled with goodies also. Caden was so excited the Colton got a "beard" in his stocking-know to other people as a bib.
We then headed out to South Dakota to visit my mom and dad. We tried holding off opening presents but my dad couldn't wait! He had to have Colton open his big present and I think Caden was equally excited to see what was in it. The boys got a tricycle, a gun target game, jammies, shirts, hats, mittens,games and more stuff I'm sure I'm forgetting.
They also got to open up their stockings. The dentist will be very happy this year-Caden got 3 toothbrushes-one in each one of his stockings. It's a good thing too, we really need to throw away those old ones. I don't think he rinses all the toothpaste out and we end up with hard bristles. We got home on the 26th and just relaxed! Doug took the week off so we got some family time in.
I'm not one to ring in the new year....don't make it past 10pm. So it was quiet for us. We did attempt to go sledding New Year's Day, well, Caden and Doug made it done the hill a few times. Colton and I sat in the van and listened to music.
Caden also went back to school on Thursday. I wasn't sure if he was going to go-it looked like we might have a few tears shed but he did eventually go and all was good. Wrestling practice that night was a different story-not a good night for practice Doug said.......
