Where did July go?
Really, it was just the beginning and now my calendar informs me it is August. I feel like all the plans I had to do this summer will have to wait until next summer. Is it sad that I'm secretly loving the "cooler" feel in the air? I cannot deal with heat and Fall is my favorite time of year so I'm actually loving this cool summer. Let's see, what have we done...
--Caden has lost 3 teeth-one at home, one in the car after we got done with our dentist appointment and one by getting hit in the mouth after a baseball bounced-thanks to Uncle Randy for that one.
--Colton and Canon just get to tag a long and seem to be happy doing it.
We had special visitors for a weekend. Stacie, Vern and the kiddos came out. We had a jam packed couple of days. Stacie, Canon and I hit up Costco. Gotta love that place. We then went to Trader Joe's and Walmart. The next day we went to Valleyfair. The kids had so much fun. Both of my boys love fast rides, too bad they weren't tall enough for the super fast ones. We ended the night at the Mall of America at the Aquarium and dessert at the Rainforest Cafe where Stacie and I shared the Sparkling Volcano which the waiter had told me fed 6-8 people although the menu says 2-4. Stacie didn't hear that when she ordered:) We were a little nervous about the scene he would cause when he came out but he didn't embarrass us too much. It was yummy! A warning to those going: the desserts are HUGE! All of them!
We celebrated Colton's 3rd birthday on the 22nd. He told me he wanted chocolate cake with white frosting and sprinkles. So got to pick out the cake and then I let him decorate it with the sprinkles. He was so cute when he got cards in the mail, if they contained money he wanted to share it with Caden.
We went to the Braun picnic and had some yummy food, met up with an old friend (Kim you are not old, just an old friend), went to the Canby fair and then back to Grandma and grandpa's for another round of birthday cake and gifts. Colton scored some pretty cool gifts.

I had a MOPS meeting and started getting excited about the new session coming up. We have some pretty cool and amazing women on steering. It should be a fun year.
We went on a play date with Grandma Voorhees, Aunt Annette, and cousins Max and Zach (or Great Grandma, great aunt and 2nd cousins? ). This was the first time they have seen Canon and he put on a happy, smiling, giggling show for them.
Well I'm off to enjoy my cool weather as I clean and get ready for my sister to fly in from Alaska in a few days. I'll leave you with a sleeping baby! I have a picture of Caden sleeping like this also. Oh and don't let him fool you-he doesn't sleep very much!

After Caden lost his tooth Colton was sure he had a loose tooth also.

I told him it was a word for a big animal and he kind of gave me a look and I asked him why. He told me that his guide, AJ, had said "Caden, you are a beast" when playing a game. So I told him that it also meant he was playing hard and not giving up so it was a good thing.

Bye, bye June-Hello July....
Time for catching up....
We headed out to SD to visit Grandma and Grandpa on the farm. The boys had a great time and Canon slept through the night for the first time!
Caden finished swimming-which he loved. I think Colton would have hopped right in the pool also if I would have let him. The Red Cross changed their guidelines so now Colton will have to wait until he is older unless I want to get in the pool with him. Caden had his first lessons at 17 months but Colton will have to wait until he's 4. I think seeing Caden in the pool with help though.
All three boys had their well check visits. Everything looks good. The doctor was looking at Canon and asked if he had rolled over yet and I kind of looked at her like "um no-the other boys didn't roll over until they were 4 months" but I just said no he hasn't. And she said that's ok he has really strong neck muscles and kicks very well and he's growing well......oh wait he's not 4 months he's only 2! She somehow got it in her mind that he was 4 months-probably because he is so well advanced in his development and intellect:) So I guess he is doing very well. So well that .....
Yes, my little bugga-boo you weighed in at a whopping 13lbs! One more pound than Caden and this age and 2 more than Colton. He also measured in at 23.5 inches long. My baby's growing.
Speaking of 2 months-here is his 2 month picture:

The 4th of July was spent at the largest and longest parade in MN. The boys love going and this year Colton finally figured out what all the buzz was about. He was so excited to get the candy. I didn't get a good picture of Caden because waiting for the parade to start(ie patience) is not his specialty. He got a little bit crabby. In all fairness we did have to wait about 45 minutes.

After the parade we headed over to the carnival. Caden loves the fast and scary rides unfortunately for him he is not tall enough to go on the really scary ones-mommy likes that:) Colton got a taste for speed on the tilt a whirl and is now in love with those rides too -what am I going to do? The Farris wheel gets me freaked out. Good thing for the boys is that we have the "Canby fair" and Valleyfair along with our town's days that will have a midway for the first time this year. So I think they will get plenty of "thrills".

And the president is......
You all know Caden LOVES the presidents and anything to do with them right? Well, he decided to pass down the tradition to Colton. He's been trying to teach Colton the first and last president. So at dinner one night I asked Colton who the president is now and he gave an answer somewhat close:) And then I asked for the first president....he needed a clue so I said "George" and Colton thought a bit and said "Curious George". Ahhh, the minds of 2 soon to be 3 year olds-always mixing up their presidents and cartoons:)

Last day of school gifts, cousins, and boys....
Caden loves to give his teachers gifts. I would say his first love language is quality time but gifts must run a close second. And I love to oblige with him because gifts is my first love language so this is a fun time for me!
We did the same thing as last year for Caden's teacher. We are sad she won't be with us next year-budget cuts:( She did a lot for Caden and we will always be thankful and grateful for the extra time and effort she put into helping him learn. We did a 4x6 album-I usually do a wallet size but could not find one! Click the photo to make larger to see how the book turned out. The left side contains what she will do and the right a gift card to help her to the "task".
Caden also loves his speech teacher. He has done really well this year and will be tested next october to see if he needs to continue. We got her a plant with a tag that says "thanks for helping my speech grow" And the bus driver got a popcorn basket. The Dollar store had these large square popcorn tubs so I bought what they had left so I have some for next year too. We filled it with pop, popcorn and a few candy treats.
At Derek's graduation everyone got to see Canon. Kate was a little nervous holding him because he was so little but I think she did a wonderful job! He's bigger now Kate so there will be more to hold next time:)
And of course we have to get the oldest grandson and youngest (for now that is) grandson. I think I have Derek with each of the boys when they were the oldest and youngest. It changes fast so I have to be quick;)
Canon loves bath time-unless he gets cold or you pour water over his head!

We are Tampa Bay Rays Fans....
in T-ball that is. Caden started T-ball 2 weeks ago and finally had his first game last night. It is amazing how long they let these little ones play. It started at 6:30 and Doug and Caden didn't get home until 8:00. I think it gets a little long for them also because the coach emailed us and said that some of the kids were asking "when do we get to snack time?" Caden loves it. And although they don't keep score-well the parents don't but you know the kids do-Caden informed me they won 10 to 6. He is a little competitive and doesn't like to lose-we are working on that.

And this is what happens when little brother is bored and decides to jump in front of the camera.
Some other things we've been doing are blowing bubbles-well not really blowing because this isn't the old days-like the 1990's (We drove by a building once and Caden stated that it was old. He asked "when was it built-like the 1990's?) kids now have machines to blow these bubbles! Thanks Roxanne for Caden's billion bubble blower-he loves it!

Colton built a store on our steps. Only problem with his store is that you can look and "buy" but you are not allowed to take from the store. Caden has a store policy also that you can buy and take but you must return the items as soon as you pay for them-oh and no refund.
I made end of the year teacher and bus driver gifts that I remembered to take pictures of so I'll post those tomorrow:)
